so after watching the wsl all weekend and last week I thought hey let's go do some aerials.
the fact that I only complete 1/1000 and I'm 100kg should never ever put a dampener on a bit of frivolity.
Anyhoo got onto a few punchy ones and after many fails landed a nice air out in the flats.
in my mind I was three feet above the lip and flying like a bird, in reality I was probably no more than a couple inches above the lip, landing went well which was a pleasant surprise and even got a couple hoots from people who obviously thought hey this guy does this all the time ( they were extremely incorrect)
During this time of self worship and thinking off how many different ways I would be mutilating my genitals later with my hand I heard and unpleasant and not too distant crunch.
whilst the landing was successful it was clear that the safe working load of my vessel had been taken past maximum.
i could tell this from not only the sound but a very rapid flexing of my board.
so a full crease 6 inches or so from the nose and another about 6 inches up from the fins.
normally it's a write off but this board has done a full apprenticeship, it's my best friend, it let me finallyland an air and now I killed it.
It died for me so I could be happy, I could really keep going here but I won't.
so fix it or not?
what sorta cost to fix it?
will the flex in the deck be gone forever?
I am so happy yet so sad
Sub note:
went straight to ocean line forgot they aren't open Monday this created what can only be classed as anxiety
is it ok to buy a new board so close to one dying?
