cottpier.com.au

I've not seen or heard anything about this one. They launched a FB page yesterday and i just thought id share to get peoples thoughts.

It would be good business to get the window cleaning contract once its built..

Personally i don't like it, but lets hope Barnet is not a fan..

Look at it this way, won't have to paddle out on those big days just jump in, catch wave, walk around, jump in again.

No more snaking

Big days at Cott.

That's an oxymoron.

It gets a high enough storm surge and seas to get over the height of the artists impression of the deck. I wonder if they'll still want to do it if the structural engineer tells them it needs to look more like a jack up barge?!

No post on the docklands wave pool JB? Thought you'd be all over it

They have as much chance of getting that off the ground as I do, winning the lotto without a ticket.

Same guy designed the Indiana monstrosity, apparently.

Big no thanks from me. It's very American.

Pool talk will no doubt ramp up again soon.

Beach will most likely get a net if someone is willing to fund it. Council wanted to put up half if state put up the other but state said no.

The pool idea Barnet has said he wants built on the south side of the grown. Basically on the Reef base of the Cove

The Eco Barrier is still their best option, it can then also be removed in Winter for a period if needed.

Not quite at Cove but south side, yes. It can't and won't be built there, for multiple reasons.

The net costs a lot and is kind of beyond what council can and should be paying and solves a non-existent problem anyway.

Sorry Legian,

but I really really like it.

But nevertheless agree with Mazdon, won't last out a decent winter front, and if it was high enough to do that, would look farken ugly and obtrusive.

For what otherwise appears to be a pipedream, looks like they have spent a shipload on design (or at least on the pictures and the website).

I loved this line

Every successful beach needs a focus to transcend it from a mere stretch of white sand into a magnet for thousands of beach worshippers to come and celebrate beach life.

Jeepers what is the world coming to. I like my beaches with no one on them.

That's your prerogative, trevor1.

Plenty of unaddressed issues. E.g. parking, supplies, removing waste (kitchen and human), rats, liability.

It would be packed in summer, but the beach is already overcrowded so that should be no inventive to council. It would be not packed in winter, given the amount of tourists. I wonder if the owners would get a peppercorn rent, like Indiana? So what does it offer?

I agree with Ted.
