I have an old 6,3 swallow tail Dave Mac and Im about to give it a new lease of life and fix a few old dings and compressions.

Has anyone converted a thruster into a quad? Did it work?

Its a single into double concave and Ive seen a few quads like this but generally with more concave in the rear between the fins.

Cheers

Doggie,

Do it mate. Drill the the holes, use an old fin as a jig. Get some of the FCS powder from a manufacturer and some laminating resin and sand those babies down. Piece of cake.

Drop them in the right spot for your board with the formula as below.

Just downloaded the June 2012 specs of that site CMC, very interesting

That should make things easy

I did this to an old board of mine a few years back after a few beers....only had some epoxy resin to play with and we made it too hot and set the thing on fire! Very funny at the time. Managed to salvage it but I have a few extra channels in it now where the foam has sunk

You will be fine so.....

Cheers Ted, both aunties on my mums side twins died within ten months of each other.
My mum is not dealing with it well

On the up side the funeral is Tuesday in Busselton so I might be able to get a surf in as Ive got three days off for it. My mum always says look on the bright side. Im going down with my dad so its sort of a road trip of sorts.

try simon anderson's facebook page there is a bit of info on him converting a thruster to a quad but making the back fins closer together to give more of a thruster feel rather than the twin/quad feel
cheers
