Adding to the endless Bali Questions (Yes I've searched)Anyone able to shed some light on whether Canguu, or Bukit Peninsula would be better for an early intermediate this time of year?Paddle fitness is my main problem!I'm heading over next week but no plans yet.Feel free to throw out the best cheap accom options as well

Not paddle fit and a intermediate,Canguu is the pick, short easy paddle out ,waves have less grunt and size than most on the Bukit.

Early intermediates cause havoc on the Bukit !! Better winds there at this time of the year though. The SE trades are out in force already. Lots of nice softer options for you around the Cuu. Go for a walk n find some more empty spots away from the main 3. You will have more down that way than the Bukit at ur level. Some good nightlife as well.

Legend, Thanks.

Am willing to go elsewhere as no concrete plans.

Is it worth going right up to Medewi/Balian?

Mainly just want to get some time on the water to hopefully increase fitness! Might stay away from the Bukit as suggested, dont wanna miss out on days when it's too big.

I will be back home Tuesday so no chance Mac.

If you go to the Guu Conor make sure you have a feed at the Texas Smokehouse in Seminyak. Unreal

Head down to Balian when it's small

Early/intermediate rule the Bukit
Actually using the word intermediate would give most too much credit.
They come from world class wave zones like Czechoslavakia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Finland etc
My advice is to stay well clear unless you'd like an early end to your trip by a loose board to the head.

last august impossible had 30-40 people on it most days.... but were all euros and sat so wide you could paddle 50 metres inside them and have every wave you wanted....not a bad thing gets over a proper 5ft and it becomes a whole less crowded!!
