Anyone seen the movie? I read the book a few years ago and loved it.

I Havent seen the movie but have read the book as well. I loved it too & theres some great insight to how good the Goldy was back in the 70's & 80's. You can see how Surfers Paradise earned its name. Recommended reading!

I saw the dvd in the local rental store last weekend but was with the missus so had to get the typical couple rental Might go get tonight...I hope its as good as the book!

Saw it on the big screen back in January on the Goldie. Was lucky enough to have Rabs, MR & Shaun Thomson do the intro to the film & then a Q&A session after.

Whilst it has the same title as Rabbits book the content is vastly different and only covers the story of Hawaii which is somewhat skipped in the book. It does not cover Rabs entire life story. The story is amazing and the footage mind blowing.

I'd been waiting for the movie to come out for about 2 years.
I'd just finished reading "Eddie Would Go" (bio of Eddie Aikau) which documents the whole scene and had mentioned it to MR, who told me that Shaun was making the movie - well worth the wait !

Today I finally got to watch the movie. I regret waiting this long to see it.
Definatly worth 50 bucks. If it was'nt for the "Bronzed Aussies, surfing just might not be what it is is today.
There are some really great quotes in this movie that all surfers can relate to.

" Aint nothing to to do except get up in the morning, go surfing , and charge"

"Ive had some pretty tough times in my life, surfing can make it all better"

Definatly a must see for all australian surfers.
