I know this has been covered before but just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with going through denpasar with 4 boards. On arrival at denpasar will be getting on another plane for jakarta but just wondering what the going rate for the 4th board will be to satisfy customs. All 4 boards will be squeezed into a 3 board coffin, 6'5" the biggest of them, all pretty much brand new.
Any info appreciated

I think there used to be a tax on bringing more than 2 boards into Indonesia - because you were obviously going to sell them!!!! - import tax

Im not sure that is the case anymore.

4 boards in a 3 bag coffin should be fine.

I would check with your connecting flight about board lengths though - some of em will only take upto a 6'4

I have always taken 3 boards through Bali & have not had any issues. I have been told if you take 4 be prepared to to pay up. The fine can differ depending on how you interact with the offical. It really depends on who you have to deal with at the time. I have heard of anywhere between $20-$100.

cheers guys, yeah, the customs officers are known to charge extra for any boards over 3. Never known anyone it actually happened to but havnt found anyone taken 4 boards through either. Wasnt sure if it was a rumour or not.
Gonna give it a crack i think and see what happens.
Yeah Doggie, will be doing last few days in Ments, but going to check out another area first... see how we go, photos look good this right is the one we want.
