Hi everyone,
just before going into the water, I noticed my board was cracked on the rail. Most probably happened during transport. How I really don't know. I was going to repair the rail with a little bit of fiberglass and epoxy. But then I noticed this big old dent running off the crack onto the underside of the board.
The dent is not soft, What do you think just repair the rail and move on with life?

Is that a tufflite?
Whatevs, she's gonna snap. Put some tape on it and go for broke. Pun intended.

The company name is called True wave. Local Japanese brand which is no longer in business. I am a little tough on gear but I've never done that much damage.

How do you know about Murasaki sports?
They most probability were but this one was sold from xripper..

Now I know. It's a massive chain of surf shops. I just thought it was one over in the next town. They have a massive selection of boards from crap to great.

Its not a gonner, I fix worse every day
But yeah, slapping glass over it will not be the go.

Its just had a massive flex, rail cracked and the "dent" is where laminate buckled and pushed the foam inwards..... so yeah it feels firm as it pushed glass towards the foam rather than delaminating, but its all the same damage.

I am slowly coming to the realization that with you, nothing is ever dead.
I would be very interested in fixing it just so I can get a little bit more knowledge.
If I cut away the fiberglass around the buckled area. Then QCell and epoxy to shore up the foam.
Then fiber glassed the area. Do you think that would be an okay plan?
The top deck has a deck grip sticker, which I actually really like. But do you think I should remove it to get a better look at the deck to see if it also needs repair?
Also, I used the video that you made with Paul on nose repair a month ago to fix up the tail of my windsurfing board. The end result was fantastic.

In the boonies. About 20 minutes from Hamamatsu.
Some good surf spots around though.

So now will brag: here is a full snap. Two pieces, snapped just behind front foot..... now one piece again

And the carbon strip up the middle is carbon again and not painted on like most dodgy repairers....
You will see some logo was sanded away as the glassing is a big patch

do you do them as a refurb project for self/mates, or as a little side gig for cash?

I've got a banged up mini mal that is almost worth the hassle, but not quite for me, given it was just a rack sales bargain buy of mass produced variety - but then i feel bad about not trying to save it when i look at the foam etc in it, could definitely get a re-life

That is amazing Mark. I zoomed in and in and could see no repair line.
Got your PM, I think I can do it. I'll have to read over it a few more times to make sure I fully understand.
But as long as I work slowly and methodically, I think I can do it. Both characteristics I don't currently possess.

Note that epoxy must be extremely clean before you get stuck in.
