Hi guys, learning to surf here and looking for a 2nd hand board.

This one im keen on has slight damage at the end of it from storage.
being a complete newbie, could anyone determine whether its a serious issue?
or is it just the paintjob?

Not a serious issue, from what the picture shows. If there are visible cracks on the board otherwise (like at the widest part of the board, where most of your weight goes), that potentially makes it more serious. Talking from the point of view that you area complete newbie, you could get away with putting ding tape over it as you'll probably grow out of the board if/when you improve.

just for curiosity sake what's the deal with the yellow? im assuming its not the foam.

Stick your finger nails into the area around the ding/chip,I could be wrong but the board could have a white paint job over the glass,if so it could be hiding some serious wear and tear.
Maybe a better photo of the board would help.

barring any damage not shown in the photo - a light rub with wet & dry and a couple of coats of auto paint and it'll look good as new.

The seller says its just the paint thats came off and otherwise mint condition. No dents/cracks etc etc. I will make sure that's the case though when I see it.

OK its just the top cover,as said above a light sand and some white auto paint,the board looks good for your needs,but please rip all those stickers over it

It seems to be an epoxy board. This means that the resin itself doesn't like UV that much, so it should stay completely covered. A paint pen will take care of bits like that. Get creative, or get white and keep it clean.

A quick spray of clear acrylic will keep it there longer.

Good looking first board BTW.

+1 yeah looks like a great startup board

My NSP has had the **** kicked out of it and still goes strong. Well, it doesn't go strong, it's just strong. I've dropped it and mountain goated it up rocks. They love it. The more dents, the better. I found mine ges well with the middle fin smashed out. Not by choice, just happened.

reading through forums it seems NSP and other "popup" boards seems to cop a bit of flak in regards to ride quality. On the other hand the consistent theme is that they're indestructible though which is perfect.

Each to their own but hell I'm not spending tons on a custom board (2nd hand or not) when I have nfi about quality/damage/value of boards.

In my experience, some are crap and some are great. My best boards are pop-outs.

Less stickers...WTF...that thing needs more stickers...nothing will help you be a total ripper more than over enthusiastic application of stickers
