Hey guys,
I'm a beginner surfer asking for some advice on board size.
I'm 180cm tall 76kg.
I came from a windsurfing background (mainly on flat water).
8 months ago I moved to Australia and as I couldn't find any good place for windsurfing where I leave I decided to give it a try... and I start surfing on a 7.4 minimal. After few months of surfing pretty much 1 hour every day, I change board... fish 6.4 very wide, I thing 22. I was very surprise how fast I manage to stand up on a such short board and for a moment I believed I was becoming a real champion :-)
But now I change board again. I bought a short board 6.4 18 wide. I didn't know the width could make such a big difference. I feel like starting all over :-(
Just wanna know if you think I'm insane buying a 18 wide board or if I just need to keep trying harder and harder and I'll be fine.
Cheers guys!

I think that you will get used to it. If it is 18" wide it could be concidered a little narrow for a 6,4. - 18.5 would have been a little better. Stick with it!!!
