Always take your own board you feel most confident with, have a scrounge around new and 2nd surf shops while you are there you never know might pickup a bargain.
Wind and lower swells are a issue that time of year, East Coast and Nusa Dua are the best for better wind direction ND for swell
BTW if ND looks 6 foot from the beach it will be 8 to 10 and bigger once out there.
You can still surf kuta / Legain if that's your thing just get in before day light and do the early.
Most guys will turn there noses up at the mention of a Balinese surf guide but the Japanese and Koreans use them for good reason they will take you to the best location for your level, sit you in exactly the right take off area, the other local Balinese hot shots will give you waves and if they are really good you will not get cleaned up by the bomb sets.
Would highly recommend plus you are helping support a local family directly
A mate swallowed his pride one year and used one for Ulus 3 to 4 times over head at the peak the Balinese made him take the set waves normally you wouldn't get a look in.
You can also use Slim (Baliwaves) look him up on the net.
Thanks for ur help mate, much appreciated.
