Does anybody have any suggestions on a good land based surf camp for a low level intermediate who really wants to get some help pushing to the next level. Looking to go for a week in either July or August.

Thanks in advance

Hey mate,

Check out Slim at Baliwaves.com, or the guys at WaveGuru. Both cater to all levels and will find you the best waves suited to your ability.

Spent a week at S resort's on the peninsula last month. Got in house surf guides and they usually split into 2 groups each day based on ability so for your level I would recommend them.

Thanks Bara, that joint looks great. I was planning on going on my own, but it looks pretty family friendly?

I think a guy I know down here knows the guy from Baliwaves.com so I'll have a chat to him as well. Thanks for the heads up LS.

Also check out Padang Padang Surf Camp... food and accom very good and family friendly. Be aware that they can get you up at 4:40am to get out to Airport Rights etc for 6:00am depending upon the tide. Generally 2x 2hr sessions each day; but you can opt out at any time. Mate of mine has gone about five times... I went once but bailed after day 5 as the early starts and highly organised nature of it did not suit me (I wanted to surf where I wanted to surf when I wanted to surf).

Not when I was there. Mainly couples and solo guys just there for a week of surfing. Was thinking if all the beaches stay closed down here in margs for much longer I might do a last minute trip solo too. If I do that's where I'll head especially this time of year - they aren't that close to any breaks but they aren't far either so you can hit east south or west coast depending on conditions.

Beware if you want nightlife hook ups etc this ain't your place. Single fin at ulus is about 15 min taxi ride though.

Thanks Bara. I'm just looking for a joint that gives me access to enough waves to improve. Nightlife isn't on the priority list at all. Thanks again.

Hey Bara, I saw an ad the other day for either Perfect Wave or World Safari advertising 50% off room rates at S Resorts. If you're doing that solo trip it might be worth looking into.
