P.V.A. glue, don't forget to glue both edges.

epoxy resin.

maybe 4oz glass, depends what sort of board?

go a nice red cedar stringer.

Hey mate,
I used to build boards years ago but gave it up due to bub on the scene.

I have never built with wood but it sounds like a great idea. the riley bloke sells balsa blanks and may be a good way to step into board making.

Also, there is a mob called www.onlineshop.capeboatworks.com.au that sell full surfboard kits from shorties, 'fun' boards to Mals.

just a couple of thoughts. if you haven't made boards before it may be a good way to go.

As for resin and glass - ditto what others have said.

Glassing is an art in itself and is very messy as is the sanding and smoothing process. its also a ****e load of fun. nothing like the feeling of riding a board you made.

let me know if you have any questions as I can dredge up some long forgotten nuggets of wisdom - like don't use a planer when you are tired as you may lose the tip of your finger. my index finger on my right hand is somewhat smaller than that on the left.

Good luck bro,

Ados

was talking to a mate yesterday who's built a few and he recomended using a sealer coat before glassing to prevent resin soaking into balsa, hence less weight.
can't remember what the sealer was called but he said not to sand that coat?
