Thinking about a trip later this week up to W_,_,_,_e to surf BR.

With the gates now permanently locked, does anyone know what the beach is like at the moment?

Cheers

I got pulled up last time by a guy in a Transfield ute.

Apparently it has been permanently closed for over a year. They are starting to fine people now. You are allowed on the beach, just not behind or on the dunes.

Beach from the south has a few really dodge washed out sections, no option but to go down near the water on an angle.

Enjoy

^^^^

The range caretaker is a first class Pommy NOB! I had a run in with him a coupla months ago.

He is a power tripper wanna be army man and tried it on me not noing I have more knowlege of the place than him. I was with a mate kiting at Sth Rocks and on the way out Just at the bitumen he pulled infront of us as if there was some major problem and started yelling out his window( to lazy to get off his big fat arse) "what are you doing in the range? no vehicles past this point you are in the range you are in the range. You are trespassing and I am taking your rego number."

Any way lost my cool abit and yelled back the truth and that he was full of **** and a liar. Told him the range starts at the compound and Id been surfing and fishing that spot for over 25 years, had a shack for 20 and my old man had a shack way before me and that I was friends with all the fishos.

Also asked him where all the signs and gate were to stop people from entering.

He acted like a C$CK to the wrong bloke and obviously didnt know I had worked for transfield before for 4 years, worked on all the ranges from swanborne bindoon lancelin etc actually knocked back his job because the money was crap. know his boss Bill at bindoon really well and rang up and told Bill how much of a C##T his new range operator was.

And surpize! It was not the first time he had complaints from people about this bloke

The fishos hate him already. He can tell you not to go in the "real range"because yes they have had it closed off since the road went through but if he tries to stop you or have a go if you are on the track from the bitumen to st rocks or on the beach(no flags up) tell him to go ###$$ himself!

The previous 3 range operators were good blokes, its a shame we have to put up with this toss. BTW it is a really low paid job and no intellect or qualifications are needed.

PS if anyone wants to make a complaint pm me and I will give you his bosses number.

Give him heaps!

Thanks for the heads up.

Guy I spoke to was Australian and seemed like a decent bloke, he explained the situation and said he didn't mind as long as I stay on the beach side of the dunes.

BTW super boggy coming from the north, couldn't get through this morning unfortunately.
