Im living in South Korea and the surf is dismal, Okinawa is a 2 hour flight away and is in Typhoon alley, unfortunantly im going to miss the swell of the year so make the most of it and remember how lucky you have it....

Been but havn't surfed there. I was prepared to rent a board if it was on, but it wasn't. If your travelling over from Korea, I think you would be better off flying to Shikoku, hiring a car & staying in Ikumi, maybe white beach hotel (Ikumi -careful more than one white beach hotel on that stretch of coast. Some good waves around there including Japan's best wave, Kaifu River.

& yep in Bali, not much swell here at the moment. Scoring brownie points with the missus for when it kicks
