Its been confirmed....
Looks like he passed away from Dengue fever, He was to ill to fly and passed away in his hotel room....

Terrible news. Its quite depressing really. Looks like there was going to be some big stuff coming from him in the near future. Too young to die.

So farking tragic. What a waste, and what a horrible way to go - in transit, airport hotel, alone and trying to get back home to his family.

Why the hell was he in a hotel room and not a hospital if he was too sick to board the plane???

apparently methadone is used in the U.S. to treat insomnia.
be hard to imagine an athlete of his level having a herion problem, other drugs maybe but smack ??

Anyone read the MP bio ?? booze, dope, coke etc... OK, but smack just lead to the demise and death of many a good surfer.

I read last night in the Dallas Post that there was no methadone.
