This is the "Pygmy" Blue Whale that washed up at Stricko's around Chrissy (???) 2005. That nice big green hole in the background is the keyhole at the end of the left

It festered on the reef for a few weeks before it was trucked out to Narrowneck where it was buried to slowly leech into the ocean and attract sharks for many years to come. Kudos to the RIA for disposing of the whale at the narrowest point of a porous limestone island, managed almost as well as the piano debacle.

It was 2005 ; me, my bro and a mate rocked up to find that wave smoking with no one out. We surfed by ourselves all day. Couldnt belive it coz its normally crowded and this was a saturday. When we got home on the news it said the beach had been closed due to risk of shArks from the whale. Ignorance was bliss eh! (didn't even know the whale was there on the beach)

Bigger.

ATM we have at least 3 whales in various stages of decomp buried on our beaches. One was uncovered in the last swell we had, not good but guess at least the beach is netted

Has anyone else noticed the four rather large bite marks near the pectoral fin closest to our fisherman friend - they are bigger than his torso
