It seems like the new ASP owners or should say team surf America are trying a little bit too hard.
Trying a bit too hard to try and fix something that's not broken
I should of known they were overemphasising the marketing when they gifted Medina a win at the start of the year
The new golden boy who will probably sell more Team surf league shirts than a bald Slater
I think if they want to improve they should look at the judging for a start. Try and be fair and not treat it like a popularity contest.
How many times do you see an underdog lose by 0.01 of a point because of his rating/popularity as opposed to their surfing
As for the commentary. Pottz, your an absolute legend but your commentary skills have the same effect as a Restavit

That's the problem...it was broken .... the ASP was struggling to break even. The sponsers we struggling to sponser events. The new mob are trying to attract more public interest. The have paid for a couple of events out of their own pocket with no sponser available...agree that using league in the title sounds like they are playing American baseball or something. But who really cares? I just like watching Owen wright drop into chopes bombs in real time...it could be called the world monkey spanking league for all I care. In fact that's a pretty good name come to think of it. Suits the Joey Turpel style commentary.

Well if that's the case and the ASP are struggling it makes me wonder how long it will be until all WCT (if it that's still the name) events become pay per view
