It dumbfounds me that I even have the ability to say I've surfed there...because that wave and that surfer and that ride is on a whole other insane level of awesomeness...

he could of quit years ago when he was ensconced at g-land as the surf guide at Jo Jo's .Took me a while to work out that he would herd everyone in for lunch and hotfoot it straight into the lineup
i have some old footage of him from 97 getting some good barrells there although the ones i saw from the lineup were ball tearers.Pretty distinctive in that homemade helmut,(he and another guy andy?campbell? from WA made them and both wore them along with cutoff steamers for reef protection ) very casual character!!

Some of waves the guys are scoring at the Portugal ASP event @ Supertubos right now are such waves.
