Just looking for some feed back regarding these boards. I like the idea of them being 24.5" wide and 4 " thick as I''m at 100kg and just want to catch waves a bit earlier. Has anyone on this forum ridden one and have an opinion?

Howdy,

What sort of volume is that?

FWIW - I am 115kg 49yo surfing a 9'1" x 22.5" x 2.75" @ 66lt volume. I also surf a 7'3" 53lt Fish when the waves are above waist high. I'm not sure you need all of that foam under you...

Can you noseride it at that volume?
My hat goes off to you if you can I weigh way less, nearly 50kg less and my boards are about that volume.

Ozziy Never ridden a mega Magic but maybe try the Longboard forum some one in there would have ridden one.

Nah - cannot get on the nose - I get about 50cm away and it starts to sway/rock from side to side and inevitably I either step back or lose the wave...

I'd like to try a thicker and heavier 9'6" - but I'm not keen to lose the manoeuvrability... my 9'1" is quite responsive... I still do little 'mal' reo's and floaters.

I'm currently on a campaign to get fitter and lose some weight, so looking at another big guy fish type board. I'm pretty happy with my 9'1" for the smaller days.

Too thick I reckon....try to find something with less rocker or more forward vee this will help paddling more and make it surf easier...alternitavly find something a lot longer
