Weed fin?

this type of fin is the latest thing being played around with on 12'6 666 race boards. hatchet fins being cut down to 6 inches.

mine is a laird 9 inch. it has a big base so i cut it down to 5 inches. because i didn't mark it out in the board the cut off angle looks wrong now with the lead front seeming to be higher than the back. but i'm not going to change it

very loose with a feeling of little drag and lets you go right up the beach. very addictive and a scream dw ing

foiling a fin after you just about cut it in half was interesting

LL is that the same fin Kai lenny has.

Wouldn't you lose speed having to change paddle sides more often though?

no, not at all. first up my board is very full in the bottom rail and hard edged out the tail. so i kinda don't need a big fin for direction.



and with that it still steers from under foot really well too - a area neglected or unknown by novice to intermediate paddlers

^Sweet, I have a spare fin I was considering cutting down for shallow reef & sand banks. Might havta give it a go coz I've had some trouble with a shallow beachie lately...don't worry Pup, not sacrificing the one you gave me

i was thinking of a decent rib type thingie that was part of the board shape . like on a boat. maybe a foot and a half long????
