how old do you reckon when you start backing off the shortie and sups and start thinking long boards.

Nah how could I forget that brave man paddling out at snapper on a mother of a board.

Have a go mate I know you would love one

I'd call you the all rounder wave stealing pig and that's not a bad thing.

On holidays with the grandparents, I spent a lot of time paddling around Marmong Point, Lake Macquarie, while back in mid primary school on a beat up early old mal.

Despite constant pestering no one ever did take me to the beach so I could have a go at surfing the thing.

I can't blame it on the Grans as no time in their entire life did they ever own a car, the board weighed a ton and the holiday boat shed was on the opposite side of the lake to the surf. Still, with their stories and encouragement, no wonder I have always enjoyed "old school"?
