From my view as a first year surfer and second long board owner.

First board a cw log was really good get on anything.

When I had a chance to try the mct evo2 I decided it was time for a mix up; a change of scenery.
I changed the 2 plus one setup and went thruster style. It so much faster and better handling.
While i can cross step etc this steps up when the waves get bigger. Even in that messy weekend stuff.

For me there is no bad points. At the 9,6 size I can get the ripples yet game on with some size. Actually had some m7 fins in the side with is even a touch better than before.

While a log is unbeatable on those days this board lets me surf bigger waves and handles a bit of mess too.

Pretty happy until a years time haha

Thanks for the report LL ..I think it's great that you've found a board that does it for you...it's what we all want..and rarely find 100%.

Now Mac is not alone..

What about soft little beachbreaks LL? What longboard would you go to if it wasn't something you'd want the shorty for? Still the same Evo II? Or? Or maybe go back to a 9'1?
(Shorter boards are all the rage. I saw it next door. )

gee, what a question. I suppose shorter. but for me, a one long board quiver, ill stay will 9'6. I've found on the steeper take offs you kind of float them down then go like clappers.

I did have a really rocker long board but it was too small a sweet spot for general waves for my liking.

having said that I've surfed my log at beachies too.

its all good fun

Thanks for that. I see lots of lovely longboards around, but i can't handle (without getting grumpy) the crowds on the points so I have to think about the beachies. (And hope to be aware/lucky enough to jag those rare times a relatively-uncrowded point session might be possible.)

That was epic Mac - thanks for posting. Good to see that the Mct Vids are back where I like them. That last one was clearly just an aberration

Amazing to think that the same craftsman are still there doing the same thing all these years later - a classic example of a great workplace. Staff turnover of that rate is incredible. We have really good retention rates at work - over 20 years we have hardy lost anyone. 2 people unfortunately passed away and a couple have retired. But on the whole we have really only lost one person in recent memory we wanted to keep and that was not through a lack of trying - but he moved for family reasons and a shift in what he wanted to do with his life. Keeping staff happy and fulfilled is a cheap way to do business and ensures longevity in what you are doing I reckon. Bob must be one good bloke to work for is what I take from that.
