Just bought a nice old '62 D Fin, generally in pretty good condition. Quite a few old repairs or minor dings.
Board would be almost water tight but to be sure planning a light sand and a total finish coat.
Finish coat epoxy or polyester. I dont believe a clear finish coat will effect weight or performance.
Anyone a specialist in this type of re life who has opinion?
cheers.

i wouldnt do the whole board, just fix what needs to be fixed eg, cracks and deep dings. If it aint broke dont fix it

Oh and use poly, I wouldnt think it would be an epoxy board at that age.

Im no expert but my opinion is pretty good I hear

You can do it yourself if you are confident enough or get it along to someone who can if you really want to hang onto it. I've had a couple of old mals that have been restored by a guy down at Ulladulla but any decent laminator would be ok. Don't be too worried about weight.
Old mals are heavy beasts anyway. Put a pic of it up.
