Really keen to surf in the old mal division.
But struggle with buying an old board from a middle man who may or maynot surf has contributed nothing to its manufacture but been lucky enough to find a classic.
why isnt the division called "pre 67 design" boards must be hand shaped, made of the same materials, weight as pre 67 (Replica)
Board builders of the past could never have dreamed the value their boards are now worth, they would probably struggle to buy them back.
The craft of hand shaping could disappear.
Board museums are great and all boards saved.
But contests alowing replica's would have to be good for encouraging true long boarding gluide and keeping alive hand shaping.
After all the alaia division isn't limited to pre 1900 alaia,s??
