Hi guys. Finally got to a computer to register.Im the guy that met 62mac at rainboy bay a week or so back.Hired a 9foot mal for the good swell that started on the Thursday and what a ball.Forgot what it was like to ride long fast waves but the crowds up there really suck.Back home in newy its been 6foot and on shore every day.I still have 3 weeks leave left so the child bride and I are coming back to qld for 2 weeks.I am picking up a custom fireball on the way up.Ive never owned a mctavish so will see how it goes. The best board ive ever had is a Jye Byrnes custom 9 foot mal with a bonzer tail for more squirt out of turns.I just wish all the long and short boards made now were available 40 years ago as Im 56 and need all the help I can get.Anyways its mothers day so got to go.Maybe will meet some of you guys around the traps.
Love Tank.

Welcome tank, I've never surfed at newy but I've seen a few good waves up there.

Really strange sort of a break just on the northern side of those art deco public baths at that beach near the mouth of the Hunter. There's rocks all over the place and you kind of have to pick your way between them.

I've heard that Caves can be good and I once saw Catherine Hill bay working a treat but for me, Soldiers beach on the central cost is the closest I've ever been to Newy.

Soldiers can make an outstanding wave.

Even though I went to Stocko many many times in the dune buggy, I never went anywhere near the water, that place has a rep for being the White Pointer capital of the east coast.

Just getting ready to leave for the gold coast.Yeah I mainly surf the Bar to Merewether stretch as there is always a wave along there. It has been very ordinary of late due to very shallow banks and long gutters in close.Dont worry about the sharks Im more concerned about the 2 legged sharks out and about.Used to surf Stockton a lot but they extended the rock walls into the harbour and so the sand doesnt move around as much. One thing about the Newy area is that every one can surf so theres never really any hassles. Will try and post pics of boards when I get home
Luv Tank
