so its 6 am last day of a few days surfing byron from xmas day.... and my wife goes for a stroll down the beach on our last day at brunswick heads

having had a couple of great morning surfs at the pass on the previous days she thought let the family sleep in... just fully relaxed... then

by 7 i am thinking we should be heading for a surf and i call her and she has lost the car keys on the sand while walking [}:)]

hours of stress and completely stranded and a checkout at 10 am we are screwed

$800 plus later we paid for a tow home to the sunny coast, car, kids ,dog, me , ... and the wife

never leave home boys :( fook me

but was worth a change in wave scenery

poor yewoo truck on a tow truck above

800 from Byron to the Sunny that's cheap imo I was of the opinion it would cost 2k.
Hmm and add the cost of new keys and at a guess house keys.

Could the RACQ hot wire it to get you on the road?I don't know.

Mate the bay is windy as and a filthy rip through the wrecks washing all the Tangalooma backpackers out to sea the surf rescue was flat out the day we were there. Northpoint was cooking for 3 days better than Rainbow I was getting 200 meter plus rides. I went out real early Xmas morn no one out prob 3 foot and snapped my leggie first wave I came in about 300 metres down the beach and at one stage contemplated screaming for help to some walkers on the beach scared the living shiz out of myself

Great photos Jas.
I had my kids out on their nipper boards yesterday and they were catching 1ft rolling waves on their knees for first time. Next step is standing. It's a buzz watching them progress.
No joy in losing keys mate.

TEd Northpoint, Yellowpatch is in the background the wave is a similar setup to Snapper the swell wraps around the corner and slides straight down the beach so you surf nearly parallel to the beach sort of heading out to sea thus how I nearly drowned xmas morn.

SMH didnt fish near the wrecks to busy but dived it the fish life is incredible out there, we fished the Eastern beach mainly for big dart and whiting tried most nights for a jew but no luck winter is the best time for Moreton fishing.

PUP merry xmas to you and yours mate
