..seems Gsi may be a thing of the past...
Well they will retire happy campers

I am pretty sure there is enough demand at the lower end of the market for them to carry on. Its not like demand is reducing. Tufflite boards have a pretty reasonable rep amongst people who rent them for a living - and there are more than enough of those places these days. Not too mention that they will probably move up the technology curve anyway.
I think they will be round for a bit longer yet. Personally I am all for producers who can come forward with new technology and applications. I think the surfboard industry has sat on its asse for far too long. I am a strong supporter of people like Diverse, Katana, Firewire, JD who have embraced change and tried to build a better product for their customers. Sadly surfboard making continues to mostly be a cottage industry so we have not seen big changes and improvements in technology and manufacturing over a long period of time - as there just have not been the research budgets. If you are a one or two or even 3 person band - why would you seek to much change and not keep with the status quo? I am not sure why - but it seems that 99.5% of people have done this - there has to be method in their madness

I am sure people like GSI are always refining what they do - but its a shame that people like that have not contributed more with breakthroughs. It seems that NSP are attempting to do this with some of there efforts in the 666 space - but it seems CMC has sadly left us so we can not get any updates
Actually these is some demand next door as we speak for GSI!
