I am just wondering if someone can help me. I have a gordon woods surfboard which is approx 8 1/2 feet long. my parents had it before me and I can remember as a child learning to stand on it while being towed behind the boat. Not sure age of it but I am 43 and it is as old or older than me. I will try to upload a couple of pictures to show. I am wondering if it is worth anything as I have noticed some old ones are worth quite a reasonable amount. hoping someone can help. thanks

It was probably born in about 1968.

It looks to be an early Tracker outline.

Trackers have never really been considered one of surfings great innovations.

They were known for some good down the line speed and that was about it.

Regardless of the condition, someone would pay for it just to say they had one in their collection.

What they'd pay is a mystery to me.

Maybe. It depends on how much we can get for it. Firstly we just want to know what it is worth.[

I can't see it going for over $1000. Look at what $1000 buy you at McTavish. It's a hard market to figure out though.

Float it on eBay and see what sort of interest or email the Board Collector.com he might have a better idea.

Any pre '68 board under 9ft doesn't pull the money in like the over 9ft's unless it is in excellent condition.i sold an 8'6'' tracker gordon and woods 7out of 10 for condition $500.Also sold fantastic plastic machine g/woods $400.Sold all on ebay.Good luck you never know.

Personally, I wouldn't even give $10 for it..... Sorry. It's nice and all.....

I've seen some early through to late 70's McTavish Singles, in 9 out 10 condition, top out at about $900 / $950. Basically, you can order an identical board from Bob for about $1100.... Which is pretty much sets the threshold....

In modern McTavish boards, I saw a really nice Carbon Fibre McTavish G2 Gun sell for about $1200. The guy bought it for $2500, as a wall hanger. His tastes changed after 2 years.... or he got sick of looking at it !!??
