That's the problem with those Russians - once the bottle is open it must be finished. So if r the guest it's very rude to leave before hand.....hope the head is not still banging.

Friend of ours does Polish Christmas dinner, standard fare is about 4 bottles of vodka for a quiet year.

Personally I need it for the herring!

Edit - find a nice danish girl and break out the Schnapps, far out - will make your Vodka night feel good.

How's the head Chrispy? Have you perked up yet?

The history on Vodka is that the Italian's took Grappa to Russia and the Russian's thought it was too strong and actually watered it down with either ice or water, and when they made their own they sort of called it "Special Water". The Russian word for plain water is similar to Vodka I believe.

Vodka - you can also use it as medicine. It can help you sleep, it can be used as a disinfectant & antiseptic, it can help an ear ache if placed in the ear, will help a tooth ache.... I understand that Russian Medicine from a few hundred years ago revolved heavily around Vodka !

We used to have some absolute blinders in Rome. No wives & no girlfriends in tow. We had our Rome Pub Crawl down pat. We lived near Piazza di Spagna (Spannish Steps), and would head towards Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain). Next stop was usually Campo di Fiori if we hadn't already been there straight from work.

Our Rome Pub Crawl had 2 starting 2 points, the local pub down stairs, or The Campo on the way home from work. Depends on the situations.

Anyway, from there we would head across the river to Travteveri, then back over to The Campo area to pick up pubs we had missed. Always finished proceedings at Jonathan's Angels just to the west of Piazza Novona. Then home for circa 3am to 3:30am. At work at 9am (ish). Via a drunken walk past The Pantheon.

We had roughly AUD$110 to spend each night back in the day, which was actually paid as 40 quid (Pounds Sterling). Back then it was a blinder of a night, and you would barely spend it. $1AUD went just about as far in Italy as it did in Australia. $6 for a beer compared to $5 at home at the time.

Turns out that was 6km of walking, plus the 1km from the Tram stop. So all in all, at least 7km after work, with Roman Beer & Food as fuel !!

I lived in a busy pub in the North of England in a very busy town centre.

In terms of numbers there are about 3 to 1 girls up there and no Aussie tourists veture into that area. I was 21, single, with full Aussie novelty value, working and living in a busy pub in the middle of town. There are something like 150 pubs in a 3 square mile town centre. Bit like shooting fish in a bucket you might say.

One notable night with my mate the landlord and a couple of Irish girls we went back to the bar after the nightclubs shut and continued on. As the sun rose the street cleaner truck came around. We waved him down with a stubby of becks and one Irish girl fed him a story that we had just got married and I had always wanted to drive the street cleaner truck. He said yes and I was doing laps up and down the main walking precinct on a street cleaner. Could hardly walk but cleaned a mean street!

Another rather large night we decided to get on the roof and have a puff and a drink, all fun until 5 police cars surrounded the building. We got down then, here's a tip. If you don't want to drink too much forget the Russians stay away from Irish Girls that dance in Prodigy film clips. Slightly barmy.
