Heading back to Bali next year with Jetstar most likely. I know it was mentioned on another thread but does anyone know the maximum length board you can take with Jetstar ? I'd forgotten if it was 9'6 or 9'4.

Don't think so, they take max. 1.9 meters on short haul flights but up to 2.77 on long haul

As dotcom posted.I got away with a 9.3 a couple years ago on j*.
Because the board was in a 9.6 bag the girl questioned the total
length,so next time I took a 9.1 she made me that nerves that the
board may not fly, well it came out the other end much to my relief.

I dropped j* and fly with V ,if you book early you can still find good deals.
My wife and daughter are going next month for 350 one way

I just ordered a board as well. After a lot of decision making between a Takayama and a McTavish I ended up ordering a fireball evo 2 9'4 x23 x 3 with a lilac tint and a white pigment nose dip . I dealt with a guy named Dave who was most helpful. It was a tossup between a UFO and the EVO 2 . I got the free board bag and leggie deal thrown in. Now I've got to hang out for 6 weeks to get it. I will be putting up some pics for sure.

Yes Dave English is one hell of a surfer and currently rides both the UFO and Evo2.

What was the talk about on the Evo2,compared to the standard FB and UFO,I'd be very interested.

He said the evo 2 is pretty much a trimmed down fireball a bit narrower in the nose ect.. He told me he's getting another evo 2 made but glassed a bit heavier because the other one was a bit light. The main difference between the ufo and the evo2 was the ufo has got a continuous rocker and finer rails where the evo is more a 3 stage rocker, more volume with a more defined flat spot in the middle. I went for the evo2 because its more of an allrounder where the ufo is pretty much more a performance model. As it turns out the guy that glassed and tinted my log is the same guy that glasses at McTavish and whoever he is he's bloody good at it.
I cant wait to get by dirty big feet on this new board.

The free bag-leash is an awesome deal mate. I wish they were doing that when I got mine, can't wait for the pics. Sounds very cool
Dave is very helpful as well as always by the sound of it ... er! ... I have only been twice but always gives you his time 100%

Yeah it is a good deal Dotcom for sure. I thought the cover was going to be a cloth cover but its a padded travel cover with a leggie as well.
I'll put some pics up when I get it. The six weeks is going to go slow.

Yeah asea I've seen his name on a few contest results in a few mags so I guess he'd be pretty handy. He was pretty helpful too.
