Mine -unless I pull out something special in the next few days pretty sure I can post this now with only a few days to go till 2015 .
penguin reef breaks along the easterly edge of the reef on a northeast swell so on 3/4 to full tide you have the choice to go right with a pretty powerful wave that sits up 2 or 3 times over the reef ,or go left for a long longboard type wave along the edge of the reef ,so me on my SUP and one other on a longboard sitting out on the tip of the reef . A big one rolls in on the horizon old mate says it's yours . I am thinking you beauty if I take off I can beat the wave breaking just to the right of me and rip in over the reef . .

Didnt make it , wave outran me knocked the board straight out from under me as I was cutting across the face - result self inflicted right uppercut to the nose from my top hand on the paddle - broken nose , lots of blood ., luckily no sharks in the water that day .

funniest thing paddled back out to old mate and he says you can go left you know - cracked me up .

to make it worse paddled in about half an hour latter nose busted , not a pretty site , school bus pulls up beside me for a school outing full of school kids - look on some of the faces - priceless .

Hahaha , was once told by a very wise man ( 2MT ) - every ride ends in a wipe out of some sort

should add 2 MT told me that after I got hammered at the state titles at 4 mile 2 years ago - was chewing on sand for a week after that one

Yeah - I don't like reef... Did this on a 1.5ft day last week... paddled wide to get away from the pack and pick up the 'set' wave...

Well, I was slightly out of position and it sucked dry on me. I bailed out the back and after a slight bump thought "lucky... I got away with that" only to be sucked up and over and slammed hard on my lower back. It still hurts 10 days later.

Surfing a local point at home when it was 3-4 ft, have to jump off the rocks to paddle out. Mistimed the jump for the first time in about 10 years, washed back up on the rocks the slid in between two rocks and copped a set on the head getting slammed each time. Funny thing was I came out fine, a few small scratches and hurt pride but ok. Then around 15min later, a dog got washed off the rocks and one of the old fellas reckoned that's what I looked like, I promptly told him to get farked

Having a grovel today and took of too deep on a rocky point. I didn't realise id drifted in that close chatting. Just pulled into it and closed out, came out and proceed to find myself high and dry, on my back like a fish out of water, only to cop the next wave break almost on my stomach

I made it out alive, except for my dignity

I always get hurt when its stupid small

23rd June, 01:05 on this vid...misread a wave thinking moving forward on the board hoping on speeding through a section was gonna happen. But got rolled over the falls slamming my left thigh with the rail of my board. Limping for 2 weeks, 2.5 weeks out of the surf.

Funniest wipeout I have seen for the year - surfing with my 12 year olds mate - funny little prick absolutely no fear , on a day where the waves were breaking a fair way out then sitting up and dumping on the beach before sucking back out .

Anyway the wave for the day has rolled in I went left he went right , I flicked off before the beach looked around and he had vanished . I am thinking oh shat . Look up and here he is sitting on the beach beside his board where the wave has dumped him , huuuuge smile on his face sitting there waving at me .would be great to be 12 again he has paddled straight out caught the next wave in .guaranteed if that was me would have snapped my board and done my back

Yep - I don't bruise easily so when my (nurse) wife saw that she told me to get X-rays... thankfully there were no fractures.

I am very pleased it wasn't my head. I'm not sure I would have come up from a slamming like that...

Sorry, but I can top all of these...

One of my mates, yes i do have em , who's a GUN shortboarder is surfing this island reef/point break somewhere out in the Solomon Islands when an innocuous wipeout turned very VERY nasty... He goes down ass first, to which a perfectly placed coral spike pierced his rectum... yes... thats right, PIERCED HIS RECTUM!!! he had to be air lifted to the mainland and then was flown to Brisbane to sow it up and protect against infection... We found out via some pics of which I wont share due to their freaking disgusting nature... I couldn't help but laugh till I cried, fortunately our boy is bullet proof and has an amazing sense of humor. And then, incredibly, 4 months later he ran 3hrs04Mins in the GC Marathon, and was gutted at not breaking 3hrs... he's a freak and a bloody legend!!!

This is the pic his Niece drew for him, you get the picture:

"Uncle G@#$ with seaweed, rocks and an anchor in his butt when he fell off his surfboard"

had a few this year, but the worse was a big day at straddie. was feeling very confident and full of myself after a couple of screamers.

then got called into a ugly beast. i did not want to paddle for it,but i did. paddled hard, got to my feet and got shot out of the sky, just like a hunter shooting a duck.
got completely destroyed,so many underwater cartwheels, hit the bottom a few times...then after a while i started to panic. finally came up.
got smashed by a few more just to **** me up some more. finally made it back out. sat in the lineup feeling like i had been completely feminised
