Is Yamba a good place to learn surfing?

hi,everytime i have been to yamba i have not had one surf, due to wild weather,i love the caravan park there and will go back when possible, but no luck what so ever with the surf. really like the thai rest. and having a few coldies up the pub in the arvo.

My folks took us there on our family holidays and have a scare on my knee from a fin chop at the age of 14,great town
