I got a call today to say that I can start my new full time job as of November 1st and they're more than happy for me to take absence without pay from about the 3rd to the 9th.

Mate, we will be there from the 4th until the 12th I think. We are staying at arrawarra. My mate, Tom has entered the comp as well and Lfish is also coming down from Brissy for the comp. Stoked that you can make it - looking forward to sharing a corona () or two with you.

Thinking of a road trip in NSW from the 14 Nov until 19. Flying over from WA to catch up with my brother who I havent seen for a few years and go surfing for a week. Really dont know where to start either up or down the coast but I hope to get waves over the week.

North or south of Sydney doesn't really matter all that much, they both have great surf spots and picturesque landscape but if you're from here originally then you would probably know that already.

I find the south coast a little less crowded and slightly less commercial because unlike the Pacific Highway, the Princess is not the main connection between 2 major capital cities.

OK......Who's going & when?......for me looks like I will be going Wenesday...with a bit of luck the "Point" may be working?.....hope so

My original intention was to go on Wednesday, have a sleep along the way and be there at sparrows fart on Thursday.

Unfortunately I have a Thursday meeting to go to down at darling Harbor that wont end until 10am and if I was to go all the way home by public transport, and pack up to leave, I would probably not get away until about 1pm.

So I've come up with a new plan, I've managed to score a free parking spot in a secure building at Darling Harbour so I'll pack the lot the night before and the 2 boards should be safe on the roof.

If I get away by 10, I figure I should be there just before 6pm, NSW time.

I'll probably only have time to make camp rather than have a surf but you never know your luck.

Guys you know I would love to go,however as you know I need to stay close to home base.

So I/we look forward to a Woopi thread,blow by blow and give the old camera a solid workout for us

We will be arriving mid morning on thursday so lfish and obct ring me if you are about and we will hit the point. If you are not able to fit one in thursday I reckon a meet at sparrows on friday at the point. You both have my number so call whenever.
Hey obct - if you are gunna arrive too late to set up camp on thursday ring me and you can borrow the couch thursday night to save you fumbling about in the dark.

Mac and Asea - thanks for the kind words - hoping for either very big or very small surf cos I do ok in either but generally get whipped in nice medium sized surf

I'm pack'n it at the moment because of my right elbow, it's completely rooted.

I broke my funny bone many years ago and then I aggravated it again a few years back when I rolled my buggy and I was protecting my head as it hit the ground in a big way.

I'm going out for a paddle now to see if it works well enough.

Been waiting months for this trip.

Everyone must be packing for the trip,bloody quiet in here, what's going on lads

Packin for the trip and I'm also a bit sore due to copping a coupla really bad beatings yesterday at bb's. Thought I broke my blooody neck on one - due to having to straighten out for a shortboarder who dropped into the pit almost on top of me Yep usual story "didn't think you were gunna make it" jeezus it hurt - got absolutely slammed.

Forecast is looking good too - think it's gunna really be on for the weekend. Fingers crossed its big enough to hold the comp on the point.

BB has reported in already, he says Arra is 4 to 5ft.

A quick update as of 5pm thursday:

Pissin wit rain/ blowin ne gale/ nasty bitey blown out crapsurf (and thats the more protected spots.)

On the upside - billboard/lfish/obct have met up for a team briefing and had a coupla quiet ones (english breakfast tea - how sad) and all is in readiness for the dawn (ish) sesh 2moro.

Excellent trip up, was great to meet up with the boys, more to come tomorrow morning.

Wind has just dropped and Mulla cleaning up - looking good for a dawny in some niceish h/high + waves.

You should be here mac - conditions not so great but gunna be a few laughs. Just heard the local news guy saying that they are expecting 4mtr swell by the weekend looks like more drinking than surfing coming up for some of us I reckon. 3.5mtrs is my limit sorry
