Of course someone will have the exception but Ive noticed that where longboards come in all sorts of colours and designs, shortboards are almost always white maybe just with a logo.
Is there a practical reason or is it something to do with their owners
Short boards these days are almost disposable, they need to be because the people who ride them do so many circus tricks on them that they tend to snap quite often.
No point paying for graphics if the board only lasts 6 months.
Longboards are glassed more heavily and tend to last longer, plus most riders don't do the circus tricks on them.
Well, maybe I am showing my age, but in the 80's the SB's almost always had a full deck spray - and there was no extra cost (customs).
Think it might be a way for the shaper etc to keep the cost of boards down - and then again, a pretty spray gets covered in wax, and after all does not make the board go any better...
And then there's the amount of people buying off the rack boards - most of which have no spray...
Plus - much easier/cheaper to fix a plain white board...
Cos we dont need to fag it up with crappy sprays etc
They are for SURFING not dancing lol
Nearly lost the line off the reel it was spinning so hard
Were you expecting any less
I thought we might have gotten something like a white short board is pure, like a white wedding dress, where as a longboard is like marrying the town bike, so your getting married shotgun style in the local registry office in your parachute material track suit...
yr channel bottom is looking more brown than white in those pics Doggie - is it ageing gracefully?
Its the pic, for its age its very white. I dont use it all the time and its kept in a very safe place out of any direct sunlight. 6 oz deck so it hasnt got that many compression dings either. Its like new almost
