In relation to right of way boating rules
And considering a row boat is a vessel as are windsurfers and kitesurfers.

Should SUP's also be considered Vessels and thus be under the control of RoW rules?

They should have indicator lights on them. Indicate just before they catch a wave so at least we'd know which bloke on which side he is going to have a go at when he stacks it because he had 'right of way'

There are exceptions like when a vessel is constrained by its draught or restricted in its ability to steer.

there were 4 of them at my break at dawn stuffing up every wave.

The takeoff was nothing, the only part of the wave that was worth a ride was a fast wall on an inside section.

Not one of them made it through that section, and almost every LB and SB that managed to get a wave in between these time wasters, made the section.

No, they're not a " Vessel" they're a Vessel accessory "A sea anchor"

The SUPS here aren't so bad probably because the breaks aren't so crowded . Did have a fun surf with 2 blokes on jet skis a while ago . Rude pricks that caught every wave absolutely mushed them up and gave myself and the other surfer out at the time the evil glare if we dared catch a wave .
Made me glad to get back out with the SUPs . No idea if the SUPs have to follow the rules of boating . Interesting point though .

Gosh that vid has has really converted me, I so sorry for all the mean and nasty things I said, about them.

Now I realise that that all those half baked retards that I see every weekend falling all over the place and getting in everyones way are just mess'n with my head.

They're really red hot surfers who are waiting for me to turn my back so they can start to surf the way we all know can.

BTW, what's the purpose of the paddle, other than to cheat your way onto a wave or to belt people on the leg when to turn to go for a wave 6 meters in front of a longboarder, a wave that the longboarder already has, like what happened to me last weekend?

Maybe he was franticly paddling inside the tube
