1. As Bede paddles out a big set rolls through...Ross takes the time to highlight Bede's face and rattle on about how sacred he looked
2. Bede gets skunked on a close out...Ross reckons he's not a smart competitor

I guess things are so tight between them (surfing wise) these days that they have to resort to any tactic to get ahead. Imagine if it was still like back when MP used to standover people in the surf & rules didn't disallow it lol

I've never liked competive surfing.

Agree with you Mick..I was only ever in one board club..the egos ruled and the underlings got the dregs..lol.

Gotta say that the comp side of things depends on the club.

One I am in has a motto 'put on a rashie, have fun and surf with mates for 30 min'.

Would be just a bit different for the top short boarders in the world though ha ha

I wonder what Ross Williams face would have looked like in the same position. I know what mine would look like shear bloody terror. I suppose he was making a point and if my memory serves me correctly it was in regards to the mental prep behind competing and the two differnant out looks. One being the guy who is frothing for chopes beast and the other who is out of his comfort zone a bit. I am not saying that Bede is out of his comfort zone in my opinion he is one of the best guys to watch.
