So, been pretty hard at it for the last few months, slaving away, but now I am finished for the year and have 3 1/2 months holiday! Stoked to be 1/4 an engineer. Done some pretty awesome projects from self navigating vessels, to rat trap powered boats, building our own skateboards and had some great times, most memorable of which would include running out of fuel on the highway and having no jerry can, instead we took a goon bag to the petrol station and filled that up, after emptying it's contents first of course.

The winning rat trap boat, which was ours Had to be the fastest boat to go 10m. We did it in 23s with second place taking 33s.

Our self navigating vessel, had to carry a can (was our cargo and ended up being a can of beer) through a random course of red and green buoys. When the camera saw each colour it would turn either way to navigate through the course. Again, our team was the best and the only team to make it through the course unassisted. The funniest part is, I've now led two teams to victory in both competitions for first years at the Australian Maritime College, and yet, I will be continuing on with civil engineering, beating these marine engineers at their own game!

Failed surf mission with a mate. Decided to skip class and go surfing, ran out of fuel, had to use a goon bag to fill it back up. Went to get more fuel when we made it, my mate lost his wallet and couldn't pay. Got on the road eventually, scored epic lefts at about 5 foot breaking for 400m, no one out, glassy offshore and a warm day by tassie standards. To top it off we spun out on the way back at 90 km/h, just lucky we didn't flip! Was karma for skipping class I guess!

Anything new on the breeze aside from just the usual banter? Noticed Ted was happy about the kiwis winning the cuddle contest over the Aussies, meanwhile the Aussies gave them a lesson in how to handle a bat and ball. Aside from the last lot of overs, bottom order batsmen fair tonked the Aussies for a bit, kinda embarrassing!

Who's had good waves? Who hasn't? Who's had indo trips? Who's got fancy new sticks? Pictures please

Hope everyone well, been frothing hard and drinking plenty of beer.
Cheers,
TK.

Great stuff TC. Pleased to hear you are enjoying your Uni adventure. Wish we had more enthusiastic students like you where I am!

Life all good for me - had an unreal year so far - spent most of it in Indo and Asia. Caught up with several breezers in Indo which was great. Been back in Oz the last 5 weeks working my nuts off and had 3 Crap surfs. Off to Tassie Tom for an adventure for a few days - little way from you - then back to Sydney for a few days work then back to Indo for 6 weeks to test run The lovely board Tux made me. Plus sort out a water bore, Electricty and a house. Not sure what 2016 will bring at this stage but the way it's looking it's going to be a super year full of adventure and hard work. Nice combo

And yes we won the World Cup in the rugby - wonderful and we are still learning how to play cricket

+1...only my Uni projects were not as fun. Communications & IT in 1999 was like wtf is with all these Mac's & why are we learning this old **** when its already been superseded. Then my diploma just felt like hard unpaid work, which basically it was.

Nothing changed in my life, travelled overseas a few times & surfing almost everyday
