A guy like Adam Robertson is a great surfer for the following reasons, but not limited to these reasons;

1) He surfs great
2) He surfs smooth
3) He surfs with power
4) He surfs quietly - (no loud mouthing !)
5) He shares waves - doesn't take every single wave that is theoretically available to him
6) Seems to be a pretty good bloke


Flip side of that coin; (this ISN'T Robbo)
I saw a bloke win a competition once. Pulled the win due 1st place being disqualified. 2 hours later he's telling anyone who will listen, why he won, and exactly why 1st place needed to be disqualified... The person who was disqualified was actually the deserving winner !!!

I reckon I have a bit to learn then ...

2) He who surfs smooth ..... I definitely don't surf smooth...yet
3) He who surfs with power ..... nuh
4) He who surfs quietly ..... Yep, except when frustration takes over, so maybe not then.
5) He who shares waves ..... Always, but then my ability and fitness doesn't allow me to catch any old wave
6) He who is a good bloke ..... for others to say...
7) He who shares wax ..... No probs.
8) He who makes and fixes boards ..... not yet
9) He who teaches ..... not really but happy to pass on what I have learnt, if asked.
10) He who listens ..... Always ready for advice.

I know Layne Beachly does!! Bloody hell she is awesome and nice as well

Layne is nice, but she get's huffy when she doesn't win!! Understandable!

She came 2nd or 3rd at Manly back in 99 or 2000, and she was so bummed, in a huff, and not coming to the stage when she was called... She finally appeared, when she was ready !!
