We'll I'm a bit upset at the newbie I bought. Sg5 billabong on sale at the factory super cheap. Perfect wettie EXCEPT the glued seams on the inside are falling apart, cracked and what not. I hope the ****ers do go broke now considering I have only used it on 4 occasions. I could have bought a ripcurl flashpomb for fiddy more.yet I felt sorry for the farkers. Dumb chrispy. Geez if ya had them hanging on the line over here tb you would be surfing in boardies in the morning hahaha

Yer chrispy man I have never found Billabong that flash but in saying that I have found our local brand very hard to beat for price and durability sad they have closed
but I guess the big boys have screwed them . The warmest suit I have is an Exel infinite I only wear it this time of year or if there's frost on the ground .

Some collection you have there TBtoday I replaced my bong short sleeve steamer with a long sleeve xcel 2/3 comp,I'm starting to feel the cold in the old bones
I've been very happy with my xcel 2mm jacket,my billabong short sleeve steamer gold model two years old with little use has started to flake on the seams which leaves black rubber glue all over you when you take it off.

I just hope billabong don't kill the good reputation and quality of excel. I'm going to wear my one through the this winter and then get my replacement. I'm pretty disappointed at such poor quality though. As I said it is a perfect suit.....except the farker is falling apart already.

Old mate gets some custom jap rubber, costs a bit yet he is the happiest tight arse I know.

Is that Bodyline from the Mount that are closing TB?

I have an O'Neill Psycho 2 - had a Psycho 1 for 4 yrs - it died 2 yrs ago - brought a fancy top of the range Quiksilver chest zip super flexy to replace it - after 7 months the thing fell apart - sent it back to Quiky - whilst waiting for a reply I found a Psycho 2 on ebay second hand - got it for $165 - almost new!! I have a replacement Quiky that arrived last winter still in the plastic hanging in my wardrobe - just been using the Psycho 2 and love it. I have been trying to swap the Quiky for a camera lens

Some good shots there......after watching that clip you can see why they went put of business. Too hard to compete when your operation is done with expensive western world labour and you lack the scale to add computerised cutting processes. A shame - I know you are a big fan of theirs - I had a few yrs ago but then moved to 7th wave...maybe your new suit supplier?

On another point - Logan never contacted me about his book - if you see him and he wants to sell one you know where to find me

i have a billy 2mm and a billy 3/2- which i haven't used for two years. not sure if they make them know but they were dearer- have yellow terry towel like lining inside- very comfortable.

and a west 2mm which has been very good to me. i guess you don't wear them out as much on the 666's.i haven't brought a steamer in 3 years.

it has to be a dam cold day and cold water before a get the 3/2 out and i'm a girls blouse when it comes to being cold in the water

cheers.

ps mac must be the weight lost that's making you feel the cold now mate- good stuff.

chrispy i would never buy a rip curl ever again. for me they are comfy but would lose their stretch after one winter. got sick of getting one each year

I had Rip Curl ultimates and e bombs for a long time and they're great when new but just don't seem to last. A mate of mine just picked up a Patagonia short arm steamer and reckons its the best wettie he's had.

Don't feel bad Mac I grew up in a spot just a few hours south of TB and I am too scared to visit - let alone in the winter!!! I certainly do not enough rubber for such a journey. Hell I am not even sure I have enough for my trip down to Torquay in late August and wondering whether I should be doing something about it. We had some friends over from Christchurch staying last weekend and they thought the water temp was warmer than their summer!

Here are a few shots from yesterday at Punis Farm - not far from where the Bodyline team were....

Considering most guys down here are in steamers from march to November you think you'd see heaps of variation and styles...nope black patagonia and rip curl suits dominate the lineup for good reason they last and thier warm...my E-bomb 4/3 is well into its 3 rd winter and still going strong....Billabong suits have been **** for ages...Oniell and X-cel have been good for the last few years
