im getting a new Pieter with mad art on the deck. Wavey cheques on the back and a red to yellow fade on the rest. Have seen some products on e-bay to use instead of wax. Some say they dont damage you wet suit but does anyone use this stuff?

I'd recommend good old wax mate. Easy to use & easily adaptable to different temperatures & does not damage your wetsuit.

I re purchased my sunset board and the guy who sold it back to me applied this on the board, it was clear and fine however it didn't appear to be too grippy, I took it off within 5 minutes of ownership. It looked like he waxed it to add grip.

Yeah stupid idea unless u got a 666. Got to keep reminding myself just to maintain a very thin layer of wax. Dont need huge gobs of the stuff

What? There are alternatives? I specialise in huge gobs of wax. It's a statement on my ... something or other.

I tried the clear hex pads (hexa traction?) on one of my shortboards. Persisted for maybe 3 surfs and then ripped them off. I would love a wax alternative but for me, it was definitely a viable one.

Another great thing about wax is rubbing your hands over the deck before surfing so you get a better grip when duck diving or eskimo roll'n
