I hate bieng negative on the forum but had an incident this morning that I just had to share. Had a Kayaker drop in on a set wave in a critical part of the wave. I had no where to go but continue on the same line. I sort of went really far down to the bottom of the wave pushed him out of the way(banging my knee), then kept going. If I had not taken evasive action I would have wore a kayak on the melon.

I was the only one on that peak and he paddled over onto the shoulder after I was already taking off and just paddled onto me, could not believe it. I saw the same guy actually run over someone while I was getting changed. Only thing that kept me from going ape was the fact the place i was surfing is generally a mellow vibe. Next time dont think I will hesitate. Just hope he has adequate health cover. [}:)]

Had a similar thing happen a couple of years ago when I was out sup'ing just on dark with a friend. A goat boat did the same thing but he actually slammed into me cutting a hole through my board and knocking me senseless. As I was laying in the water in a really average state with a huge hole in my board he approached and said he was sorry and was I ok - I said no I am not okay can you let my mate know who was about a hundred metres up the beach. The muthafugga bolted for shore and fugt off leaving me for dead in the water and right on dark !!! Managed to get back on my board and let my mate know but jeeeeezus if I ever get hold of the c###sucka I will be letting him know just how uncool it was leaving me there - let alone the damage to the board. Ok so thats my vent - sorry. Thought I was over that - obviously not hey

I guess they don't believe the rules of etiquette apply to them.

They may need to learn the hard way or not at all, either way, someone gets hurts.

Glad I could help with the vent BB! Yeah it is so dangerous, and considering they have so much control over there craft it just should not happen. I dont get aggro in the surf but that was close. I actually had to push the nose out of the way to get past!

You gotta let these ****s know...most goat boaters and canoes have zero idea about the rules of the surf and need to be tuned up.....

Yeah well it seems we need some more of the plaques you have at Yallingup and spots down south with the rules of sharing waves at the entrance to the beach.

Maybe in A1 size with lights around it , or a billboard size.

Im sure the second guy he did it to got some serious damage to his board, not fair at all considering he had been on the wave for a good 3 or 4 seconds and the guy just landed on him from the shoulder.

You sound similar to me,I too surf in a good vibe location and it takes a real act of stupidly to rattle my cage.
I would have kicked his arse so hard he would never venture out in the same lineup again.

here's one for ya fella's... a lesson dealt

about 15 years ago when I was on a short board and surfing Trigg Point with the crew, it happened to be 'on'. 3-4ft sets, pitching into makeable barrels and nice fast sections. The line-up was crowded, but the usual crew and pecking order and everyone having a hoot - until...

...a goat-boater paddles straight into the pack - turns and starts taking waves just off the peak - so the surfers line was buggered... after 4-5 times the crew were getting vocal - although he remained defiant, and kept paddling into the set waves. After stuffing one classic wave for a well known local - said local gave the guy a very stern mouthful - must have upset the guy - as he started waving his paddle around in a menacing manner and actually 'poked/pushed' the surfer in a confrontational manner - well that was it!! About 5-6 surfers pushed the guy off his goat-boat; took it and the paddle and the guy he hit took to the goat-baot with the paddle - bottom of this thing looked like corrogated iron by the time he'd finished whacking it. Guy was told to F-off and not come back - and he was never seen again!!
