I got home and a reef that hardly ever works was firing. Heaven. Its a long long paddle which is why these shots seem so far away - full 300 zoom in action and still miles away! Anyway super fun way to spend an evening I took a couple of shoots before heading out.

I had my big board Daneli - a 6'6" silver bullet. Seems to love it I probably would not want to take it out in anything too much bigger. But conditions were super clean and not a lot of water moving.

Ctngoodvibes - its a seriously heavy wave and when you stuff up you get a real good flogging - just like Indo Today it was lining up super nice. Sometimes the second peak tends to shut you down a bit and then it gets super sketchy. Not like that today.

Yes some were shutting down at the end LL but most people were straightening out before hand. As for the stuff up hurt factor - its very very large. Heaviest floggings I have ever had in my life have been out there. A few yrs back I paddled out thinking it was 4-6ft - but the distance makes it deceptive. A massive set came in and cleaned me up before I even made it out. 5 * 2 story buildings on top of me it felt like. I turned round and went in without catching a wave. I have only surfed it twice since - when it looks safe and I will not be subject to anything like that again.
