A legend that's for sure.
I remember when I was a grom about 12 years old, on the sand at Bells watching one of the best finals in history. Curren V Occy trading blow for blow with the crowd going nuts on every wave.
Crew hanging off the cliffs all the way up to centreside car park
I managed to get Occ's autograph the day before in the car park ( still have it ) and was hoping to get Tom's about an hour or so before the heat. Even with a VIP pass I was denied by some kook security guard
I was hoping Occy would win, but Curren got the goods.
I only wanted Occ to win because it was the new begining of the Seppo era
