Two friends work for Rip Curl Vic,boards sales up 3500% wet suits 3000%

I think we also live in an Amazon, Surf Stitch etc world where we order things and magically less than 24 hours later it ricks up at your door. Remember when you used to order something and then you'd basically forget about it and then it would show up say two weeks later and you were stoked as you forgot that you ordered it!

Supply issues are real right now along with industries booming so we just have to be patient and wait. Bike industry is the same, pretty hard to get a lot of basic components at the moment.

I just hope a lot of these guys get a Christmas break as they've been working around the clock since MArch and man y are very very burned out.

Yeah sales havn't been good this year as a result. I've only bought 10 blocks of wax at $3.50 each & 2 O&E 6 foot light leggies at $17 each. Really wanted a new springsuit & booties, but no good deals.

My youngest daughter has just started at Rip Curl in Torquay doing on line fulfillment or whatever you call it.
Working an evening shift 3.00 - 11.00, run in addition to their normal dayshift, so they are operating 16 hours a day I assume to get stuff out.

Paid 6.50$ for 1 block of wax the other day
remember someone here saying something similar then got stung as well but from a surf shop
I'm going into wax production
just need to think of brand name with sufficient inuendo

I used to buy cream wax off CW for $6, I didn't mind too much. But unfortunately the local stores shut down.

Surfstitch has wax on sale now for $3.50, but unfortunately not sex wax or palmers cold/cool that I prefer. The FK Surf wax is sh1t, but I think Sticky Bumps is ok. I just bought 10 cold. Gotta spend over $60 for free shipping though, so if you can't find something else you want its about $10 delivery.

It's due or I should say overdue for its filler coat, it will be another 2/3 weeks I think. It's the red one with the order sheet attached.

Hi guys the wait is real.
As a board builder it has been hard.I have been in the same boat.
Never seen a year like it,so frustrating as i had customers jumping up and down ringing every week people canceling orders.
i couldnt even give customers an answer as i didnt even know when stock was arriving people getting abusive,it was crazy.
Even had one muppet cancel his order when it was going to be finished the next day.
And it was all out of our control. Blanks was an absolute mission to get hold of,even cloth and resin,fins you name it.
Its not looking better for next year either.

I feel and take my hat off for everyone running a business during these times and a call for patients and respect is needed by the customers more so than ever.The picture I posted above was taken on the 3rd and as of yesterday its has a box installed,thats 12 days.Its now bang on 16 weeks since I placed the order, I'm not having a go at them at trying times and as said above patients.
I hear the issue is not just raw materials its labour,many have opted to stay on the government support programs.

****ing tell me about it...we usually employee 15 people over the Dec-Feb period as of last week we had one employee...no body wants to work...I know we are not the only ones in that boat

I have to find the magic board that re-motivates me for 2021... but first I have to find the moolah. That could also be a real wait.

I just ordered a replacement for my Diverse, from Diverse, using the same file he made the original from. Just a different colour. Said it would be ready for pick up by Christmas.

Time for you to get off the McT habit I reckon
