I know there's a few in here searching for it,I know some of us have sold those very boards only to find the next best thing is not what we were searching for.

Sense off loading my fav' UFO to Kadi I have struggled with board selection, sure the redline is good in small stuff the splice is a great all rounder and the last two UFO's have been average at best compared to Kadi's,so my search continues with a UFO,EVO2 mixup, can't wait for this one.

I like this thread title.
hey guys Sam here - bit light on in the work dept at the moment so actually have time to post a bit,...
got a question for all you long board experts. I am a predominantly shortboard surfer but I surf a mal on small days or when the waves suit. At the moment I ride a 9 foot firewire longboard which I have never been overly impressed with but it does the job.
I am now looking at getting a Mctavish fireball custom shaped at the byron factory.
What size and dimensions would you guys recommend? I am 93kg 6 foot 2 inches tall and 35years old. I will be using the board mainly in small beachbreaks here at secret harbour but also at some longboard pointbreak waves in Mandurah (avalon etc).
Really I just like to cruise on a mal. I leave carving to when I surf a shorty.

At your age, weight and a shortboarder I'd go for an EVO2, 9.1 - 9.6 x 22 3/4 x 2 7/8 or even 3.

Mac, because of the usual family restraints on the budget, I just change my fins around a lot and get resprays lol. There is one board though I am after second hand and that is a 7S 8ft Super Fish II. I mainly want it so I have a quad and something a bit smaller in the quiver. Although I did buy a second hand windsurfer for $120 bucks today and had a ball on it , I am knackered though, I was just so feed up with the small crap windblown waves we have had this year.....

EvoII behaves well when trimming. Cruises very nicely, but has real sting off the tail, drives hard off the bottom...

EvoII is more settled up front when cruising, and trimming.

Mac - maybe you need to wake up and smell the roses mate - have you ever wondered why you are constantly changing boards ?? Perhaps you just need to ride another brand for a change and see what a differenc that makes. You may find that there are actually other board brands that suit you better.
