A couple of short of shortboards, once again crap pics.

This one was the best,a Surf More from Tugun 5.10 loose
as a goose, one I should never have sold.

and the last a Miami Surf Design with channels,a little too
small for me at the time at 5.6.

Had to laugh... some great pics there Mac and reminded me of some of my 5.10 custom boards and tight boardies... (and hotted up LH Torana). Was reminising as I went into the games room to get a burbon and my young blokes in there playing the Xbox 360 and he says to me..

"Dad, I'm playing some old time games"
I say "Oh yeah, what?"
He says "Far Cry 2"
I say "that's not old!"
He says "Not old??! it's 2007!!"

yes - the OLD days indeed!

When I get home tonight I'll try to scan some old pics and join in the self ridicule.

No old board pics but I may find an old girlfriend pic.

Most are at mums place and after 37 years with wife they're all just a distant memory.

Apart from always tending to have smelly fingers, I remember that quite well

Just to add to the nostalgia

I can date these with trips to Bali

First board Morning Mist 5'9" twinny took to bali in 1981. On the mustard 180B
Second shot Ulu's shack in 1979
Third shot Col Ladams 5'10 circa 1980, my first short single and second Paul King 6'10' that I took to Bali on my first trip in 79. Paul was from Phillip Island and moved to Albany and is still there shaping boards as far as I know

Bali was such an adventure. The first trip in 79 I won in a work raffle. I have not been back since 82. When i see my sons shots of how it is now it is hard to believe the difference.

It is NW so killing some time and found a couple more

First shot was Bali 79. This was the first short single we had seen at 6', as all the boards we were on were around 7'. My mate Bob bought it off a guy from over east, one ride and we were hooked. A McCoy

Second another Morning Mist around 5'10". WA used to have a lot of small board companies that you would watch your board get built from shaping to the final polish. Not anymore

Third is Mexico, 1985

Next shot was what we used to call secret spot in Bali. Turns out it is now Bingin. We got the name from the movie Five Summer Stories I think and Peter McCabe was surfing there and that is what they called it. Used to get a boat up with not another person in sight

Next was Bob on the first twinny I put up

Next is the States in 85 just after we kitted ourselves out. Moose Head boards, the first one I bought off a rack. The Kombi was know as Wilhelm Von Door Mobile. Home for seven months
