So how was everyone's Easter break? In the interests of the sudden honesty of late in the greenroom I will own up

Waves - 9/10 here. Wind was favourable almost all day everyday and the swell pumped - although one day it was absolutely massive - too big for me in the morning

Weather - lovely autumn conditions - low to mid 20's every day, blue sky and lovely

Crowds - at times were big (compared to normal) and at other times I found good quality waves with just a few others - today I just surfed with my neighbour and same on Sunday. Friday arvo just a few of us on one peak. So no complaints really although I did not surf several spots that I would have preferred to due to crowds.

Friends - caught up with lots of them.

Family - none this Easter - everyone is in NZ including the chick

Chick - no action as she is away but no telling off either - gold!!!

Finances - spent Saturday arvo having a few punts on the horses and came out on top by a long way Lets hope the lady has not spent too much

Beer - cold and lots available without being told off and a couple of high quality reds were consumed as well.

Food - cooked a whole rump over coals in the backyard Brazo style on Friday - delicious Spent the rest of the w/e on leftovers!

TV - have streamed lots of Bells which has been great at times. Also streamed a few games of quality footy.

Work - I have done only a few hours

News - heard some very good news from a fellow greenroom frother - stoked for him

Traffic - no dramas as I stayed home

So in conclusion I am going to give this Easter a 9/10. Its been unreal. Hope you have all had a good one as well.

7 / 10 Ted

Surf - was good but uber crowds , some carnage at times

$$$ - only thing I lashed out on was a new spare wettie

Food - 1 x Roast Lamb eazi-carve , was farken yummo + 1 x Chinese takeaway , also yummo

Beer - welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ..... I might have had a couple

Work - Good Friday when it was cranking

Idiotbox - Didn't watch it much

Chickybabes - saw & said hello to 4 magnificent smoking hot young Japanese girls yesterday , one of whom was learning to surf - this made my day

All in all , I cannot wait to have my local - local again , been chaos sadly

Edit : I added 1 point for that good news thingo Ted

first half excellent standard, but after the main saturday nite break, the second half standard dropped right away.

however the training waves during the week were quality.

next weekend game plan is for the waves to put in for the whole match/weekend

then they locked me in a cave with a massive bolder ...... assholes !!!!

luckily Mary fronted up to witness this crap, and watch me escape ............

starting to resemble a semi normal easter now though , having arrived back home having nice glass of wine . mmmmmmmmmm maybe some toast

Hey Ted, glad you had a good one.

Given I was without my girl, I kept busy and took full advantage of the forecast of waves and offshores.

I've recently started seeing a lady from Manly (who surfs) so am splitting some time both north and south side.

I went the dawny at North Steyne on Friday (and got aced). When over that, my lady and I paddled out The Bower mid morning, conditions were sublime - crowds were hectic but still got 4 or 5 fun waves.

....Saturday morning we paddled out The Bower at first light. The beach was mackin' and the Bombie breaking 3 peaks out but Bower looked OK IMO.

In the water, it was bigger than it looked and lots of movement but I got 3 good walls but then had an issue with 'Surge' and snapped my 9'4 clean in two - damn.

After changing and grabbing a coffee from Mambo, Mark Kelly (GSI) opened the gate's to a surfboard garage sale on the water's edge at his place at Shelly Beach and I walked out with 3 x sticks for $1,200.00 so was stoked with that effort - justified of course by the snapping of my board earlier in the morning and with adrenaline running from the session - LOL.

We then watched the action around lunch time and I shot some images.

....back to Cronulla for the second half of the 4 day break and a Sunday dawn session at Cronulla Point on one of the new boards (which was beautiful) then a run out to The Cape to watch the hellmen mid morning followed by another early session at The Point this morning (Monday).

Lots of waves, lots of photography, caught up with great friends for coffee's who knew I was struggling with other ****, some after hours delights and an overall rating of 9.5/10 for surf and weather and a case of two totally varying degree's of emotions on other matters.

Here's some footage from the 4 days that I hope share's the surfing stoke.

Thanks for that great post SA. I really miss the Bower and especially Winki - had some great sessions out there over the years - infact the pic in my profile was shot by Don from Realsurf at the Bower one lovely morning !! I hope you are not dating anyone I know from Manly

Sounds like you got some good waves and some great boards - classic that MK is living on the steps of Shelly - shows you that GSI has been very good to him

Looks like a clean snap? You fixing it? If not I know someone who might

I now work Fri, Sat, Sun & Wed...working Sat/Sun allows me to work 4 days & still be paid for like 6. Good Fri was a bonus apart from the corker in the calf muscle from a stray board in the morning.

Basically surfed in the morning, worked from 1500-2100, had a couple of beers & crashed. Same for today, only I started drinking earlier & threw some shiraz into the mix. Best thing is I've fallen into a comfortable routine in my new job, enjoying it & had some great waves over the weekend, love this time of year...cheers

Good waves but no great down here...most of the swell went straight past us but it was super clean most days....no beers...I'm married and the crowds were pretty tame compared to last year

Had a great surf on the mid coast of SA on Saturday. Conditions were 2 ft and clean as can be.Pulled up in the carpark at 6.15 and 20 out already. Got out on the Astro and caught some nice waves. Felt real good after 7 months of weekend renos. So incredibly stoked on life right now after an hour and a half of surfing. Thats some good shiz right there.

Ahhh your life just got better Enjoy - might take a few weeks to get used to it but after that you will be loving life. Call me if you get stuck and need a hand finding your way round the new machine. Although I am pretty sure your talented son probably has them mastered already!

Saturday.......Woke up to find Manly won..............drove 300km south & stayed with friends who have built new house overlooking the ocean and scored a point break at double overhead which I have never seen break over shoulder high. Went out on 10ft log which was fun, should have had the 9'1.

Sunday......swell dropped to shoulder high & fun

Monday.........waist high beachie & 4.5hr drive home with everyone else, should only take 3 hrs.

Wow some super cool stories.
Me,I have so much goodness atm. Am always thankfull for it these days though. Have had so many good days surfing. Some big nights with old friends and wonderful times with the family.

I have had some.scary but excellent news. Nothing for the net,yet I have told some by phone that I cannot see,and the others will be told as I see them.

I don't won't to jinx myself,but I feel truly blessed.

I hope everyone else on this mighty fine room can get half the goodness I am getting .
