Well guys, I can't talk highly enough of my 9'6 Occasional Pin... It does everything...
It falls into the "hybrid" category... At least one of the hybrid categories!
It's not fully traditional, not it's not fully modern... It's a blend... It probably a 50/50 blend actually...
It's not super light, but it's not super heavy either... 50/50..
Wide point is pretty neutral... 50/50...
I LOVE IT!

It doesn't have the acceleration that say a 9'1 EvoII Fireball has (1+2 set-up, and keep in mind that mine runs those 4"1/2 side fins, not the more common 4" or 4"1/4 sides)... But it has FLOW!

But, it goes fast after you lay it through a nice smooth bottom turn...

My Occasional Pin is actually quite different to the Pinnacle...

You can see that the template to the pinnacle is quite different... Much fuller through the nose and the tail...
One of the very best boards I have owned is The Occasional Pin... But for my money, I would ask Bob for another Occasional Pin, rather that The Pinnacle... :) There was only a handful of Occasional Pins ever made... Yes Asea, I have a keeper! :)

I run a 9 inch Wiz in my Pinnacle outstanding board that flows so nicely,I haven't ridden it much because the 207 (splice) is magic.

Yes, "Flow" is a very fitting description! The Occasional Pin flows really well too! You could call it The Flow, or Flow model...

Have you got a rocker profile of the Occasional Pin Simondo is it the 07?I know the Pinnacle has the 07 rocker.

I feel that mine has a very similar rocker to this one.... Yet, the black one above seems to have a heavier rocker! ...??

read the mct blog mate,what would have happened is the shortboard revolution didn't happen all those years ago,you would have a mix of old and new the best of both worlds.


Simondo the board is forest green not black

The Occasional Pin looks way nicer than the Pinnacle IMO.

Both look to be completely different boards . The Pinnacle looks like a user friendly log and the occasional pin looks to be more of a HP singlefin.
