Never used a tail pad before but thinking I need one for my monster McCoy nugget. Thinking a split pad.

Any suggestions?

Why do you need one,are you thinking of airs

How longs the board again McH are you having trouble with feeling where your back foot should be

I reckon the 5 piece ones are better for a lb you can spread the bits out to get better coverage.

The last one I got was a creatures one. Cost me $40ish from surf stitch

I recommend a high arch and high back bit to slide your back foot into. Not sure how beneficial they would be on a big board - but I love them on my shorties. They do annoy you in summer and can ruin your wetties. But well worth it in the end.

I came very very close to purchasing a Nugget yesterday but pulled out at the last minute.

Yeah will check those out SP thanks. Sadly the nugget hasn't been out on the maiden voyage yet. Life has been super full on with the little one. She is super high needs and is officially the world's worst sleeper. Between work, her and trying to finish off the home renos the only thing i have been able to do is one night mtb ride a week starting at 8pm.

I've surfed two - shorter than McHenry's - and they went really really well. I was surprised how positive they were and how tight they turned. They didn't paddle as well as I expected though. I guess that is down to the nose rocker, not lack of volume.

I just wasn't sure I really needed it. I think I will bring a board back from Indo instead this next trip and leave it here in Oz. Then I Will not feel so bad when the newer one arrives in May

The nugget I was looking at was a 6'2" for small Syndey beachies. Not sure it would have had the wave range I was after. Need to do some more homework.

Nuggets are great boards..have had them in PU and Tuflite, about 6 of them..really user friendly.

Mine were all around 7'+7'6" and, for my weight 65kgs, great paddlers..never had a tail pad on as I only just surf waves..no airs..only wind
