After getting my mr ff ive ditched most of my shortboard quiver.
Most of it was just that bit under volumed ive discovered . A few other things too.


Any way lets leave that and the associated bagging i usually get for another subject

The proceedings allowed me to get a 6 ft channel islands new flyer tlpc construction. I was keen after trying that waterhog cmc lent me

The board is well unnaturally light.

handles nice paddling. Duck dives a dream. Get waves very easy. The surfing feels a little different but i reckon the board design and this tlpc will make a killer small wave board.


.im wondering if any crew have the longboard surtech boards in the range.and what they think.

its got more float in it than a normal pu. I reckon that mct board would have floated you

I was just talking to a guy this morning who had a full refund on a tlpc construction (Micky Munoz ) had problems with cracking to start with then it creast I did ask about it some time ago SA said he had similar problems and dropped his quick (sold it ) Shouldn't be a problem for you Lacey it will be gone in two weeks

Well. The board is a small wave firecracker tb. Had blast on it this morning

Yes I wondered that I thought they might have pulled them but I saw they were still selling them in Hawaii , must say I did like the feel of the Munoz , a shame really

Today i was blown away by this board. Its just so dynamic. Im a little scare of it to be honest. i wasnt game to do a closeout for 4 waves

Its a award winning board in its own right and i can see why.

Yeah . I had it out yesterday midday with a onshore. No so pretty still goes but the bumps make it hard.

Im going to do a few boards with sdr and im thinking we should try some epoxy boards. I know hes done some lb.
The advantage is i should be able to get the size board i want with th e bit extra 'float.

Then again he might so no way

Are you crazy mac i had an awesome time of it this morning . Im floating buddy got a full rail carving mr flying fish and a ripper small wave board. Thats it .the rest are gone.

Sdr and myself are still going to do some boards white ones. no art.

I know sdr loves working on projects. I also know he won't put his name on boards with some peeps that have stupid ideas

From what ive seen looking around the web. Tlpc is really tuflite with extra carbon stringers etc. And some of them are eps foam is it the eps foam that is the 'problem

So do the tuflite longboard board break up

Yep always was in the construction sandwiching - the tuflite coating is pretty durable but probably wouldn't like to bang one up so you had to repair the innards

SMH has had a Laird 666 or two in Surftech. He knows his shizz. I recall him alluding to some Surftech boards not being particularly durable (or some manufacturing issue, at least). He must be back from his holiday adventure soonish. Thank goodness, cos standards have slipped to buggery around here.

Im sure it's a completely different tech from when cmc was one here banging on about it.

I really liked the sound of it and would like to know what had happened to it

was talking to sdr today apparently tuflite construction uses normal planks. the tlpc which means tuf lite carbon pro, has a t stringer as well as a carbon strip and carbon tail rail 'bits'. and tlpc mostly has a eps blank that's the lay up I have.

I have also noticed that water hog this year only comes in tuflite only now.

you guys are probably right, tlpc wasn't holding up on the mals probably

steve was saying you lose so much strength with a eps foam core.

we are going to do a epoxy carbon stringer board

and after showing sdr the boards I'm liking, looking at rocker rail etc etc, the base of the new board then worked up, will probably some thing called a chrispy chip or something

what the hell is a chrispy chip
